INJURY ON DEFECTIVE WHEELCHAIR

Our client was assisting a recreational aid transporting an individual out of her home in a wheelchair in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  The locking mechanism for the handle of the wheelchair failed and collapsed causing the wheelchair to fall onto our client's foot.

Our client was a 63 year old female who resided by herself and suffered a fracture to her foot requiring surgery.  Cooper & Schaffer, LLC filed a lawsuit against the supplier of the wheelchair and the supplier of the wheelchair alleging that the wheelchair handles were defectively designed and installed. 

We were able to resolve this case in mediation prior to trial.

Awarded: $725,000.00
